Some pictures

How is very quite now that Emily has left for College and it makes me realise how much work I need to do around the house.

We had a successful round trip to Denton to drop off Emily, her stuff and her friend’s car but unfortunately didn’t have time to visit the Kimball to see the Impressionists show.  However, it is on until November 2nd and Emily wants to see it, so we have arranged to go up in the next few weeks.  No doubt she has left a complete car load of stuff  she will need by then.

Her new residence is a student’s paradise and  it will be interesting to see how she copes.  Its expensive but apart from food, she only has one bill each month as its fully furnished and includes all utilities. I still think she will be struggling to cope but that is just going on our experience with Alan and Elisabeth.  Maybe she will surprise us, that would be nice change.

Last night as Gordon was putting one of the dogs outside before bed he spotted a gecko on the brick beside the window.  In its mouth was huge bug.

Any as the wall is rattling I had better go and see if Gordon needs help in the garage before he ends coming through the wall…well that would be exciting at least.

Tomorrow is Alan’s 21st Birthday so we are going our for dinner tonight.  Then tomorrow, he is going to have a big party to celebrate being legally able to drink alcohol at last.  Just hope he doesn’t over do it!

  1. Its hard when they all grow up and leave…but also good to see that they want to grow up. My girls are 33 and 30. They left home both of them in 1994, together. That happened the year after mum died. I was devasteted for ages.

I talk to one of them daily on the phone and the other one about twice weekly (her choice). I have never gotten used to it, but the sadness is less.

I really feel it now since Don’s death and with the poor old doggie getting all limpy in the back legs, I feel not too long before another departure.

    Maybe I’ve got B.O?? Just a joke…

I’ll bet your daughter was excited at the room…especially those big mirrors…

  2. Jacqui,

Your kids look great and very happy.

    Heather
